While some albums might just be written and recorded to their final form in a snap, I think it's more common that songs are written, recorded as demos, re-recorded, changed, even released in one form or another before they finally reach their album form. This is the case with the songs on Looking For Buildings, many of which I recorded for my friends in the Facebook group Theme Music, including making goofy little videos however I could. 

I did not write "Known Diamond," though. Ken Stringfellow wrote it. But I loved it, and so five years ago I recorded my own version for Theme Music. The theme that week was "Going Solo" -- songs by solo artists, previously more well-known for being in a band. Ken started out in the Posies, then recorded "Known Diamond" on his own, so it fit the theme perfectly.

When the time came to make Looking For Buildings, and Ken was producing, I said I wanted to do this song. He tried to talk me out of it. But I still love it. You'll hear the full new version soon; this is the 2016 version with Bill Shaouy on piano.

Thank you, everyone! The first 12 hours of this campaign are almost over and I couldn't be more thrilled at how this has gone so far. The campaign is 33% funded! (This originally said $30 and then I looked again a minute later!)

I'm honored that so many people are interested enough in my project to pledge their money toward it. It is humbling and I appreciate all of you SO MUCH!
